For this year, <\/span>Skytrax<\/span><\/a> has again prepared a list of the best airports according to air passengers. Among the best were some of the Asian airports, followed by European airports with two places in the top 9.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

9. Narita International Airport \u2014 Japan<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Annual number of passengers<\/strong>: 42.6 million<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Place in 2018:<\/b> 11.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Features:<\/strong> As much as 50% of all international air passenger transport in Japan takes place through Narita Airport. The airport is one of the few that is closed between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am to reduce noise in the surrounding area. The runway of the airport is 4,000m long, making it the longest in Japan.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

8. London Heathrow Airport \u2014 Great Britain<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Place in 2018:<\/b> 8.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Features:<\/strong> Heathrow is London\u2019s largest airport and it can be compared to the largest in the world in terms of traffic. It is the most visited European airport in terms of the number of passengers. Its beginnings go back to 1929, when a small airport called “Great West Airport” was established here.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

7. Munich Airport \u2014 Germany<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Place in 2018:<\/b> 6.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Features: <\/strong>Voters have chosen Munich Airport as the best airport in Europe. Since February 2017, it has been possible to fly to 266 destinations around the world, placing it right at the top in terms of flight options. The airport also serves as the headquarters of Star Alliance and the Lufthansa Airline.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

6. Chubu Centrair International Airport \u2014 Japan<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Features:<\/strong> Chubu Centrair International Airport is built on an artificial island near the city of Nagoya. The airport was awarded first prize in 2015 for the best regional airport in the world.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

5. Hong Kong International Airport \u2014 Hong Kong<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Place in 2018:<\/b> 4.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Features:<\/strong> This airport was also built on an artificial island near the coast of Hong Kong. Hong Kong International Airport serves as a gateway to China and other parts of Asia. There are approximately 65,000 people employed at the airport.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

4. Hamad International Airport \u2014 Qatar<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

3. Incheon International Airport \u2014 South Korea<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

2. Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) \u2014 Japan<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n
